Our donors helped us fund additional portable screens (and scenes!) which provide a quick way to create private spaces at Bronson Cancer Center in Kalamazoo. These beautiful touches of nature are flexible and easy to move and clean. The screens help maintain patients’ comfort and dignity in a safe and respectful environment.

Through donor generosity, the chapel at Bronson Methodist Hospital has been refreshed, including new artwork, upholstery, kneeler and prayer box. "It's someplace that families and employees can go to find their peace and their quiet. It now feels warm and hopeful," says one employee who uses the space. The upgrades were made possible thanks to the vision and generosity of an anonymous Bronson employee and completed with a gift from the DeNooyer Family.

Last year, several donors stepped up to help expedite the opening of Bronson Urgent Care in downtown Kalamazoo and provide upgrades to the space. Donor funding also ensured child life supplies are always stocked to ease visits for young patients. Sarah Sward brought her 4-year-old daughter in to be seen right away. "We needed help and I knew we could get it here," says Sarah. "It was a very welcoming experience." Thank you, donors, for responding to the needs of our community! ??

Heather Oestrike, our director of donor relations and Liz Semaan, our executive director, spent the last week in Wisconsin completing the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy Madison Institute's Executive leadership track. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn alongside their peers from across the country as part of our team's ongoing commitment to professional development.

Sound therapy sessions are designed to guide participants into a state of relaxation and calm using sacred instruments. Other benefits include reduced stress, improved sleep quality, and lowered cortisol and blood pressure. Thanks to donor generosity, the therapy is available at Bronson Cancer Centers in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. Carolyn is a patient in Battle Creek who is in remission from breast cancer. She attends regularly and says, "It brings a lot of peace."

A touching visit from the family of Eva Martin. The family established the Eva Martin Project in her memory in 2023. This week, they made a donation drop off which included 1,021 stuffed animals, 471 blankets and 60 positioning pillows for patients at Bronson Children's Hospital. The family gave to a total of 15 hospitals! Thank you, Martin family and friends, for your generosity and kindness as you "Live Like Eva" ??

Donors made it happen! Take a look inside the new boutique for patients undergoing cancer treatment at Bronson Cancer Centers. Patients can enjoy complimentary services designed to restore comfort and confidence. Special recognition to Larry and Shannon Bell whose generosity helped fund the beautiful space inside the Bronson Cancer Center in Kalamazoo, and to Build A Team of Hope, the DeNooyer Family and attendees of our 2025 Galentines gathering who made generous gifts to provide the salon services through Beautiful You by Profile. Hairstylist Ma'kyla Mabry Burks showed some of our team members around the boutique and shared what the first few weeks have been like for her. "Just being there for someone that is going through the worst thing in their life, just making them feeling happy and beautiful, it gives me butterflies too, knowing I'm making a difference." Check out the super, prehistoric enhancements made at Bronson Pediatric Hematology and Oncology! When patients walk in for their appointments, they are now greeted by these symbols of strength in the main hallway. In addition, one of the infusion rooms, where children often spend a few hours at a time, has been transformed into a world of friendly dinosaurs. The murals came to be thanks to a generous gift from the Mike and Sharon Seelye Family Foundation. The family wanted to support the clinic and granddaughter Grace asked that the murals honor the memory of her classmate Tucker Smith who was a patient at the clinic. Muralist Lynda Marnon put her creativity to work including some of Tucker's favorite things in the design (dinosaurs, superheroes and the color orange.) Members of the Seelye family and Tucker's family each recently visited the clinic to see the artwork inspired in Tucker's memory.
